New Cam LIVE Today!
Feeling cheeky, I see… Well then, check out our newest Chipmunk Live Cam!
Along a mountain ridge in Colorado, view life on the log with three species of chipmunks, two species of squirrel, and the occasional fox, deer, bear, antelope, and various bird species. Recognized for their pudgy cheeks, big glossy eyes, striped fur and bushy tails, Chipmunks are the smallest members of the squirrel family. “They feed on insects, nuts, berries, seeds and grains, generally gathering food in areas with rocks and logs so they can hide from predators like hawks, foxes, coyotes, weasels and snakes. Chipmunks hibernate, but instead of storing fat, they stuff food into their cheek pouches and carry the food to their burrows to store it for the winter,” (NatGeo).
Of the 25 species of chipmunks, all but one, Asia’s Tamias sibiricus, is found in North America. Ranging from Canada to Mexico. You can watch on the Chipmunk Live Cam – two views! – starting today!
