UPDATE: The live chat has been rescheduled for this Thursday, January 21st at 2pm PT / 5pm ET!
Aurora Borealis, that shimmering display of lights in the skies above the Arctic, have really been amping up this season on our Northern Lights Cam. And while beautiful and seemingly otherworldly, the Aurora are a natural phenomenon.
But what causes the Northern Lights? Joining us to answer that question and the many others you have is Aurora Borealis expert Roger “Starman” Woloshyn. He’ll chat with us live this Thursday, January 21st at 2pm PT / 5pm ET from the Northern Lights Cam.
A presenter at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, Roger has also been with the Manitoba Planetarium for 20 years as a writer and producer of planetarium shows.
Ask Starman about what makes conditions perfect for Aurora Borealis, how to predict them, when the best time is to view them, and where. Join the live chat on the Northern Lights Cam at 2pm PT Thursday, type your question in the comments section below the player and hear his informed responses live!
