While explore.org and Polar Bears International are getting ready for polar bear season, so is Captain Neil, or should we say Buggy Neil? Neil Mumby had an exciting summer finding the best beluga whales views for the beluga cams, but now his focus will shift to finding the best polar bear activity near Churchill, Manitoba.
Neil doesn’t get cold too easily and most days he only needs a light hoody and his muskrat hat, even when it’s -20°C! After some great polar bear viewing this summer, Neil is looking forward to seeing polar bears again this fall, but is also excited to see his fellow tour guides again. The Frontiers North Adventures guides have worked together for years and have a great time together every fall touring the tundra and teaching people about polar bears. They are each other’s “Churchill family” for six weeks a year and have a blast every time.
You can read about Neil’s Beluga Boat Captaining here from our summer blog.
Neil will spend the next couple weeks fishing with his dog near his home in British Columbia, enjoying the autumn leaves until it’s time to go back up north. We look forward to seeing him again soon!
