Explore.org‘s partnership with Teens4Oceans has brought exciting new Shark and Barracuda Cams and the ever-popular Cayman Reef Cam. Now join us for a live chat with marine ecologist Chris Malinowski on January 30th at 2pm ET/11am PT from the Shark Cam.
It’s your chance to ask an expert questions about the creatures of the Atlantic Ocean that swim by the live cams, and about conservation efforts related to their ecosystems. Simply type your question in the comments section below the Shark Cam video player and Chris will answer them live! A little about the scientist:
Chris Malinowski is a marine ecologist at the Florida State University Coastal and Marine Laboratory. He’s currently researching the interactions between fish and their environment, and the threats imposed by human-induced impacts through habitat destruction, overfishing, and pollution on the sustainability of fish populations. He hopes to figure out how the health and population sustainability of Goliath Grouper are impacted by heavy metals such as mercury and whether this differs across season, location, and life history events.
Get your questions ready and we’ll see you January 30th on the Shark Cam!
