Where’s My Fish?!

The Penguins at Aquarium of the Pacific demand to be heard… and we hear ya! Not to worry, they are fed a regular diet of smelly, delicious fish. Magellanic penguins prey on small fishes, squid, and krill.

Penguins go on a feeding binge to bulk up before molting. Adult penguins molt their feathers after the breeding season ends and chicks have fledged. All birds lose feathers and grow new ones, but penguins have adapted to molt and regrow all their feathers at once.

The above water view of the exhibit features Magellanic penguins, some of which were rescued from Brazil where they were stranded outside their native habitat.

See the Penguins on the Live Cam and meet Roxy and Floyd in the Penguin Nest – soon to be proud parents of a Penguin chick!
