Unlikely Animal Friends Build Hope for a Cuter World

There’s something inherently heartwarming about friendships growing between individuals who are more different than alike, when two innocents who don’t realize they’re not supposed like each other strike up a lasting companionship. It gives hope that old enemies can heal wounds and that, well, maybe we can all just get along. We can all agree, however, that the most adorable unlikely friendships belong to animal pals of different species.

This article from Treehugger shares some of these improbable acquaintanceships. Take the duo from the photo above. From the article:

“Surya, the orangutan, and Roscoe, the Blue Tick Hound met by a river in South Carolina. Surya was on an outing with carers from the Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species when he first laid eyes on the hound. His carers says the bond between the two was immediate. Roscoe followed the group back to Surya’s sanctuary and found the orangutan enclosure immediately.

The pair have been inseparable since. Surya shares all of his food with Roscoe and the two like going on walks together.”
