The Hunter and the Hunted
From the African Wildlife Cams we have some rare shots thanks to our Cam Operators and explore.org community!
The African wildlife experts at the Mpala Research Centre were excited to receive these pics saying, “There have already been some great predator and (some of the prey they would love to take a bite out of) snapshots of the African River Wildlife Cams.”
“The diet of the Nile crocodile is mainly fish, but it will attack almost anything unfortunate enough to cross its path, including zebras, small hippos, porcupines, birds, and other crocodiles. It will also scavenge carrion,” (NatGeo). That’s carrion a lioness might leave behind after skillfully hunting “a wide variety of prey, from wildebeest, impala [seen above], zebra, giraffe, buffalo and wild hogs to sometimes rhinos and hippos. They will also feed on smaller animals such as hares, birds and reptiles,” (Defenders).
