UPDATE: We have a winner from the seal pup born on Friday December 18th. Thank you for sending in your snapshots!
The Gray Seal moms landing on Seal Island National Wildlife Refuge have already begun giving birth to adorable pups, but we have yet to catch it live on cam.
Every year, for just a few short weeks during the winter, hundreds of Gray Seal moms gather on Seal Island off the coast of northern Maine to give birth and nurse their young.
The first intrepid explore viewer to take a snapshot of a newly born seal pup will win a wonderful prize – an autographed copy of “Project Puffin: The Improbable Quest to Bring a Beloved Seabird Back to Egg Rock” signed by co-author and Project Puffin founder Dr. Steve Kress!
To join the contest, take a newborn seal snapshot from the Gray Seal Pupping Cam and send it to us at social@explore.org for a chance to win!
