Polar bears gather on the shores of Hudson Bay near Churchill, Manitoba each year anticipating the sea ice to form so they can hunt seals. While waiting, they hunker down in day beds or in willows (low shrubs found on the tundra) to rest and save energy for hunting. In this highlight video clip from our Polar Bear Cam a mother and two cubs do just that, snuggling up for added warmth – though polar bears do have a thick layer of fat to insulate themselves and store energy. The trio then forages the immediate area for quick bites of vegetation, but these snacks are not enough to satisfy. Check out the clip below!
