A Splash Of Color On Snow
Perching daintily on a stub of bare twig, this male Northern Cardinal is much more composed than during the springtime breeding season when hormones bring out their aggressive side.
Some male cardinals will attack house windows for hours, battling their reflection in the glass which they perceive as an intruding male in its breeding territory.
