Although the exact numbers are unknown, there is a a massive population of feral cats living in Los Angeles. These are cats who live on the streets and never learned to socialize with humans. There are a number of them who live at Kitten Rescue. Sometimes, the feral cats will warm up to their caretakers at the facility, but they likely won’t be adopted, as they wouldn’t do well in a home with a family. Nina Borg stresses that the ones at the Sanctuary won’t attack if you go near them. “They’ll just run away,” she says. Still, this is a good environment for feral cats. “They’re left alone,” she says. “They get to sit in the sun. It’s perfect for them.”
