You wouldn’t think that these Red-Winged Blackbirds would win in a fight against a bird the size of this Turkey Vulture, but evolution must have taught them the lessons of David and Goliath.

These small creatures use their agility and speed to pester and peck away at the large intruder, in order to defend their brood and establish their space.

Small birds often fly above the large bird, staying out of reach of their talons as they try to drive them out of their territory. This vulture has better things to do than expend energy trying to meet these “mobbing” attacks, and would have an easier time traveling onward.
