Got Wings?
Sorry for the fuzzy quality but this snapshot was too good to pass up (thanks, Deputy Dawg!). Our Great Horned Owl chick is stretching his/her wings and testing the air in Montana.Great Horned Owl feathers are exceptionally soft, providing superb insulation and allowing for silent flight. These baby’s wings could eventually grow to a wingspan almost 5 feet!
Funny Fact: The Great Horned Owl is the only animal that regularly eats skunks!
