The Myth Lives!
This is Venus. She is a chimera. In Greek mythology, a chimera is a fire-breathing monster – part lion, part serpent and part goat. This doll face is all cat, but she is composed of two or more genetically distinct cells giving her that split face coloring and different colored eyes – as well as the title of chimera.
”’[Venus] looked like a combo of the 2 cats I currently had (and still have),’ says Venus’s owner on the cat’s Facebook page. ‘As tiny as she is she likes to pick the giant pieces of food from the dog food bowl rather than eat her cat food and when the dogs come up she looks at them like ‘um yeah don’t even think about it.’ She’s the smallest animal of 5 but rules roost & doesn’t take any crap from the other animals’” (Huffington Post).
