Albert and his wife rescued Cadence from Craigslist at eight weeks of age. The owner of the litter said Cadence didn’t like men, yet when Albert picked her up she snuggled in and refused to leave his side. Shortly after bringing her home she became ill with Parvo and Albert nursed her through to a full recovery.
Albert then joined Soldier’s Best Friend with Cadence, who is currently a year old. He feels really positive about training and is grateful she is such a smart dog. He anticipates being able to graduate sometime around May.
Albert proudly serves in the Army National Guard. He has been in for seven years and is currently still in active duty despite his symptoms of PTSD. He was deployed to Afghanistan during 2007-08 with an infantry unit.
