Four Corners of Audubon: Northeast

“Seen regularly in city parks, suburban lawns, and forest clearings, the American robin may be the most familiar bird in North America. Even the most jaded city dweller can identify the robin and appreciate the beauty of its cheerful caroling. [Massachusetts’s] largest thrush is also unquestionably [their] most successful, breeding from Berkshire to Nantucket and everywhere in between. Robins have been known to overwinter in Massachusetts since at least the early 1900s. The number of wintering robins depends largely on the severity of the weather and the abundance of food.”
