Pectoral Sandpiper

This medium-sized sandpiper, is distinguished mostly by boldly striped brown breast sharply demarcated from its white belly. A long-distance migrant, this delicate bird will travel from arctic breeding areas in both Siberia and North America all the way to South America.

The males will inflate their chest and offer soft hooting sounds and a sort of prancing, swaying dance as they attempt to impress females.
