James And Abel
Meet James and his new service dog, Abel. James served his country as a Combat Engineer in the United States Marine Corps. In June 2006 during his mission in Ramadi, Iraq, he was injured by an IED. His injuries are multiple including TBI, PSTS and back injuries. In just the first few weeks, service dog Abel alerted to James’ blackouts which helped the medical staff find a diagnosis. Since receiving Abel, James enjoys family dinners at restaurants, has gone shopping with his wife, and is even planning a family vacation. “This program has made him better,” Amanda said of her husband. “Abel has given us James back. He is a wonderful dog.”
