Explore traveled to the Arctic on a philanthropic fact-finding mission to uncover the traditions of the Inuit people. The Elder’s in the Inuit community are very important in all areas of Inuit life, passing down history from generation to generation. Without the Elders the Inuit history would have died. But in recent times, better living conditions and lower infant mortality rates have made an unbalanced community–There are now far more young people and fewer elders to counsel them. Only 2% of the population is aged 65 or older. We chronicle those spending their lives counseling the youth, recording history and passing on the wisdom of the ages.
