These three chicks, who fledged last month, will fly solo, by instinct, covering more than 5,000 miles. See them now, while still in Maine, on the Live Cam.
And gear up for hibernation on the Brown Bear Live Cam. The bears of Katmai National Park are busy fishing Brooks Falls and other tasty river spots in Alaska. The Lower River Cam will show as many as 40 bears at once from now until October, all fattening up on the salmon run before hibernation begins.
