One of explore.org’s camera operators (Cam Ops) went to visit the Bifengxia Reserve in China – home of our Panda Cams. Here are the personal pictures Lee brought back.
Lee writes, “If you have ever watched the explore.org Panda Cams you will know what I mean when I say that all pandas are adorable, no matter what age they are.
I was fortunate to go over to Bifengxia Panda Base, outside of Ya’an, China a couple of weeks ago and volunteer there. That meant I cleaned up their outdoor yards of poop and old bamboo, and restocked many pounds of fresh bamboo. It also meant feeding them their panda bread (which is filled with vitamins and minerals), plus carrots or apples or bamboo shoots. Then we would let them outside and clean up their inside space. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it. I worked with the pandas on Cams 2 & 4 but have included pictures of the other pandas also.”
