Makin’ Music for the Bears / Post by Erica Wills of Polar Bears International
While in Churchill, Katie Billing and I decided to use our love of music to create a couple of tunes about our beloved bears: “The Farctic” and “A Land Called Tundra.” The first is an original rap, composed by myself and Katie; the second is inspired by and uses the tune of “Land Down Under.” All rights reserved to Men at Work, Colin Hay, Ron Strykert, and Marion Sinclair for “Land Down Under;” no infringement upon their rights for our tundra-themed version is intended. Many thanks to Steven (Dr. Amstrup) for filming our final performance (we sang these tunes multiple times during our trip, and the final performances you see were recorded on our final evening in Churchill).
