It’s Baby Season

/ by Pandas International

It’s raining babies this time of year and we have more special announcements to make! Cao Cao, one of the resident pandas at CCRCGP (and the mother of Tao Tao, who was successfully released into the wild last October), gave birth to a set of twins on July 6. The first cub weighed 128 grams and is a male, the second cub is a female and weighed 156 grams at birth.

And Yuan Yuan, a Giant Panda living in the Taipei Zoo gave birth to the first panda cub born outside of mainland China. China gifted Yuan Yuan and her mate Tuan Tuan to Taiwan in 2008. Since they were a gift (not a loan), Taiwan is able to keep the breeding pair as well as their offspring.
