The Honey Bee Hive and Honey Bee Landing Zone cams are back live on explore, giving an intimate look at the life and inner workings of a honey bee colony. These bees have built their communal home inside a large hollow log in the town of Waal, Bavaria, Germany.
The Hive Cam takes us inside a buzzing bee colony as the workers build combs, produce honey, protect their one and only queen, and raise a new generation of workers and drones.
The Landing Zone Cam sits at the hive entrance, where we can see the constant comings-and-goings of Carniolan honey bees. Witness them “dance” to direct other bees to pollen locations and return with pockets of nectar to produce honey.
Come see a rarely-glimpsed view of these hard workers, who we are dependent upon for our own food supply. Honeybees don’t just make honey, they pollinate more than 90 of the tastiest flowering crops we have, from apples to zucchinis.
