Final Osprey Live Chat of the Season: 8/15/14

Join us TODAY, Friday, Aug. 15th, for one final Osprey Live Chat of the season. From our partners at the Audubon Society:

The Osprey season may be winding down, but we’re celebrating a spectacular summer and successful flights by all the Hog Island chicks with one final Osprey live chat of the year. Osprey expert Dr. Rob Bierregaard is back to answer your questions LIVE on Friday, August 15th at 6pm ET / 3pm PT.  Join the hangout at explore.org’s Osprey Cam by posting your questions in the comments section and refreshing your browser during the live chat!

The Hog Island Osprey family will soon split up and head south for the winter; so don’t miss your chance to learn all about their incredible journey from the osprey migration expert himself.

For over 40 years Bierregaard has studied these raptors.  From 1995 to 2011, he taught Ornithology and Ecology in the Biology Department of UNC-Charlotte and is currently a research associate of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University focusing his studies on the ecology and migration of Ospreys in eastern North America.

You can now see the short videos of Flying Lessons, First in Flight and Third to Fledge! Whether you missed it or want to revisit the last few week’s as the siblings learned to fly, you can see is all now on explore.org.
