A Simple Home for Five
Rachel, Steve and their three eggs (visible in the background here), are turning twigs and preparing for for a full nest.
Our community of posters have been sharing updates, and noticing Rachel’s persnickety “nesting”! The big, wood block comes… the big, wood block goes! Just a day in the life of an expectant mother.
The last egg was laid 6 days ago, and all eggs will incubate for about 35-42 days. The largest and first laid will usually hatch first. Enjoy the quiet mornings on the water before our squawking brood is expected around the first week of June!
