Victoria and Joshua on his final day

‘Tis better to have loved and lost

The Woofentine Awards have been a fun way to share your love for your pet. But it’s that love that can bring an unbearable sadness when the time comes to say goodbye. Today, we’d like to feature a touching and heartfelt Woofentine Award.

Victoria tell us about her “last moments with my 18 year old baby Joshua Martin. He was a healthy crazy little boy until his kidney’s failed. He did make it to 18 years old, but he sure didn’t look or act like 18! He could walk and run until the end, just his kidneys failed those last weeks and he could not keep anything down. Actually, he ate half my burger that same day… it was his last meal. That was the scary part; he never gave up and acted like himself though he lost 5 lbs that week. Not sure where he found that strength not being able to keep food down all those days. I am lost without him. It has been tough. Here is my picture.

Joshua must have felt real comfort being in your arms, Victoria. Thank you for sharing your story with us.
