Welcome to the family, Bella! The hummingbird has been building nests in La Verne, Southern California for several seasons, and now you can watch her care for eggs and raise her little (literally tiny) family live on explore.org!
Bella is an Allen’s Hummingbird and only about 3 inches long. She laid two eggs last month so prepare for “Hatch Watch” starting tomorrow. When the little ones emerge, Bella will spend the next 3-4 weeks nurturing them on a delicious blend of nectar and bugs. We’re so excited to bring this fascinating new live cam to you, and we know it will be a lot of fun watching this small family grow up in their golf ball sized home!
