OK not for eating! But our not one, not two… not three! BUT four Thanksgiving Day puppy litters will give us all something to coo about this week.
Meet the service dog moms and their new litters of future-service-dog pups being born across the nation on our Live Cams.
Anna at Bergin University is due on Wednesday, November 26th, this week, Anna is a sweet and loving four-year-old black Lab. She came to Bergin U. from Guide Dog Foundation in New York. Anna is with them similarly to their last mom, Freedom, in that her puppies will be worked with and trained by our students in order for them to gain more experience working with young pups. Olive is at Warrior Canine Connection is a Yellow Lab due this Friday, November 28th, but the size of her litter remains a mystery. In fact, if you correctly guess how many puppies will be born to Olive you’ll win a prize. Submit your guesses in the comments section of this blog post here. Labradors typically see a litter size of 5-10 puppies. Warrior Canine Connection enlists recovering Veterans in a therapeutic mission of learning to train service dogs for their fellow wounded Warriors. Golden and Labrador Retriever puppies receive early nurturing and training to develop into life-changing service dog partners of combat veterans with disabilities. And of course, East Coast Assistance Dogs’ (ECAD) Mama Maya has already given birth to 11 puppies – 4 girls and 7 boys! This is a first litter for the 2 1/2 year old yellow lab golden retriever mix. You can see the tiny tots already playing with ma and the rest on the ECAD Live Cam here.
