Nameless No More! Our Osprey Chicks Get Their Birth Certificates
Our three beautiful and fast-growing Osprey chicks on the Osprey Live Cam, are nameless no more! Thanks to our partners at the Audubon Society and our fantastic, bird-watching fans and Cam Operators, we have three suitable names for our teenaged brood.
From our partners at Audubon:
We don’t like to name names – unless we’re naming ospreys! Let us officially introduce Rachel and Steve’s three terrific chicks.
“Poole”, the oldest and largest of the chicks, is named for renowned osprey expert and author Alan Poole.
The middle is dubbed Pandion or “Pan” from the scientific name (genus) of osprey: Pandion haliaetus.
And finally, welcome “Pia”, a nice airy name for the youngest of the three.
So let’s congratulate Rachel and Steve on their three little P’s, and keep watching live 24/7 as they grow up this summer!
Such great names!! 🙂
