Mark And Mia Meet Through Soldier’s Best Friend

Mark joined Soldier’s Best Friend with his rescue dog Mia, who he’s owned for two years. When Mark first passed Mia’s kennel at the pound, she stood tall, wagged her tail, and stared right at him. It was an instant connection.

When they started their training, Mark had to show Mia that he was the alpha dog. Now that that this relationship has been established, she is doing fantastic with training. They are hopeful to graduate in the summer of 2013.

Mark was in the Army for six years. He was deployed a total of three times: twice to Iraq and once to Kuwait. During his time in Iraq he was with an infantry unit and while in Kuwait he was a Scout (11B/19D).
