Tropics-Born Polar Bear Gets an Upgraded Home

Inuka, the first polar bear born in the tropics, got an upgrade for his home at the Singapore Zoo: a 2,700 square meter exhibit with a new pool filled with ice blocks and a climate-controlled ice cave for him to relax in. Inuka, which is Inuit for “silent stalker,” was born on December 26, 1990.
The updated exhibit, called Frozen Tundra, is thanks to the Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS)’s commitment to “providing visitors with interactive and enriching wildlife exhibits that provide for greater knowledge of the natural world, including of the climate, wildlife and issues facing the arctic habitat.”
