Rescue dogs are the stars of Thanksgiving night’s big television event with Fox’s Cause for Paws: An All-Star Dog Spectacular.
Hosted by Hilary Swank and Jane Lynch, the two-hour special will be part star-studded award show, part mini-telethon. The lists of guests is massive and includes everyone from Kathy Griffin to Paula Abdul to Betty White. Also appearing are The Olate Dogs, the troupe of rescued canines who won America’s Got Talent back in 2012.
“This special for the whole family will be a celebration of rescue dogs and the joy they bring to our lives,” says a recent Fox press release. A few dogs will win awards and one human will win “Shelter Hero of the Year” prize. The big push, though, is to get more people adopting from their local shelters. Information about adoptable dogs will be shared throughout the show (you can already check out a few on the Cause for Paws website) and viewers will have a chance to donate to the Petfinder Foundation.
Fox’s Cause for Paws: An All-Star Dog Spectacular airs November 27 at 8 p.m ET/PT.
