Bifengxia, home of the explore.org panda cams, is located in a very remote area of the Sichuan province, where the cables and groundwork weren’t built to support the quality of live cameras explore.org delivers. The live cams can be difficult to maintain due in part to the infrastructure (and damage from recent earthquakes) and in large part because the staff there are panda-focused.
You may have noticed that explore.org has a new format for the live cams, and that the panda cams are listed as not currently live. They are under construction but in their place are some great highlights. And we encourage you to check out more highlights and short films about the Giant Pandas.
