Kitten Rescue is a Los Angeles-based no-kill animal rescue organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of homeless and abandoned cats and kittens. A few days ago, the kittens featured on our Kitten Rescue Live Cam were adopted – wonderful news! Now a new family of cats has been rescued and we can watch them play every day. The staff of Kitten Rescue tells us a little about them.
The mom cat was dropped off at the North Central Shelter in downtown LA on April 20 with her six newborns. Kitten Rescue took them on April 25, the first day they were available to rescue groups. The family otherwise faced a very grim future – by law the kittens can’t be adopted to the public until they are 8 weeks old, and public shelters don’t have the capacity to keep families there that long, so they end up being euthanized.
Mama is about a year and a half old and has a cute, stubby tail. She is extremely friendly. Five of the kittens are boys, the only girl has the same dilute calico markings as her mom. The kittens are 11 days old.
Have fun watching the kittens live, and don’t forget they’re up for adoption!
