GuiLin Zoo

The GuiLin “Seven-Star” Zoo is was built in the early 1960s. After its construction, pandas became the zoo’s biggest draw. Since the 1960s, eight pandas have called the GuiLin zoo “home” – No.9, Wei Lun, Mei Mei, Tao Tao, Yue Yue, Yang Yang and the two 2008 Olympic Pandas Feng Yi and Mei Xin.  Mei Mei, who lived for 36 years, is said to hold the record for the longest life among pandas raised in captivity in the world.
