AccesSurf empowers people with disabilities by providing adaptive surfing instruction and therapeutic educational programs on water recreation and enriches lives by assisting families to access the beach and ocean in a barrier free environment.
The organization was started in March, 2006 by Mark Marble and Richard Julian. Marble noticed that many handicapped people felt it was a hassle to have their families bring them to the beach, and opted to stay home and miss out on a huge part of their Hawaiian culture. AccessSurf Hawaii set out to change that.
Explore went to the Hawaiian Islands and discovered the essence of Aloha.
