Traveling to the South Pacific, Hawai’i’s Volcanoes National Park is made up of two active volcanoes, Kilauea and Maunaloa. Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes and has been erupting since 1983.
Fast Fact: From 1983 to 1991, lava flows repeatedly invaded communities on Kīlauea’s coastal south flank burying eight miles of highway and destroying 181 houses and a visitor center in Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park.
