Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 12th at 9 AM PST / Noon EST on the African Wildlife Cams for a Live Chat with Elephant expert, Simon Hedges.
Simon has nearly three decades of experience working with endangered animals. He spent most of his time in Asia and Africa and since 1998, he has focused on elephants, particularly on the development of reliable monitoring methods, human–elephant conflict assessment and mitigation work, and, since 2004, the ivory trade. Simon has also been part of the team coordinating the Wildlife Conservation Society’s overall elephant conservation work and in 2012, Simon formally took up the role of Ivory Trade Policy Analyst. Simon has published numerous papers in journals; contributed chapters to several peer-reviewed books and edited (and contributed to) the recently published book, Monitoring Elephants and Assessing Threats: a manual for researchers, managers and conservationists.
