Long-eared… COWS?!
With the launch of our owl cams (Long-eared and Great Horned), we encountered a mysterious problem knocking out the satellite feed.
Our team in Montana got to work on the mystery, binoculars in hand. They soon discovered the culprits – some local cows! Apparently the cows wandered into the fields, found the antennas made wonderful itching posts, and by leaning into them, kept knocking out our connection.
The team is now working on keeping cows, owls and cams safe, and out of reach – so the live cam can stay live.
