The Healing Power Of Dogs

If you (or anyone you know) have doubts about the healing power of therapy dogs…

This was taken two years ago.

I had just been released from the hospital for attempted suicide.

Seeing this dog, so warm and anxious to help me –

Quite honestly changed my life.

A few months afterward, I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome.

My brain is very, very different from yours.

I do not understand emotions or the faces that people wear.

But dogs?

I can tell when one is feeling angry, sad, a bit testy, or just tired.

This talent comes from my Asperger’s.

Although I talk about being disabled, and the troubles of being autistic –

The truth is, without it, I would not be me.

I would not have the incredible bond with dogs that I do today.

So, in honor of that…

Hooray for dogs and their mystical healing powers, everyone!
