Floods in Southwestern China

Torrential rains have led to massive flooding in a mountainous stretch of Sichuan Province that only recently recovered from the 2008 earthquake that left 87,000 people dead or missing. Based on our most recent correspondence with contacts in China, we know that the road to Wolong is terribly damaged as are some of the structures, but that the pandas and staff are still okay. With more rain expected, we will be watching closely and will bring you updates as we know more. In the meantime, please keep the Giant Pandas, their keepers, volunteers and community in your thoughts.
