Cat Fact: Calicos (black, orange and white), dilute calicos (grey, cream and white), tortoiseshells (black and orange) and dilute tortoiseshells (grey and cream) are almost exclusively female, as those color combinations only occur in cats with two X chromosomes. Male versions of these cats are extremely rare and usually sterile.
