Warrior Canine Connection's Cavit, a service dog in-training

Why Labrador and Golden Retrievers Are The Most Common Service Dogs

The most commonly employed service dogs are Labrador and Golden Retrievers. These breeds of dogs are preferred for a number of reasons.

They’re easy to train and good at retrieving items for handlers who might not be able to reach or bend down. They are friendly and good with people. Also, they are attractive. An adorable dog can be helpful in public places. Molly Morelli of Warrior Canine Connection explains that the dogs should be “physically inviting,” so that others in the public space will feel at ease around the dog and its handler.
