More Pandas?! OK - you got it. 

A little panda stretch and yoga to shake out the sleep. This panda at the Wolong Nature Reserve in China looks like he’s preparing for shavasana. 

The Nature Reserve works to replenish the world’s panda population. As the situation at the National Zoo in DC highlights, panda babies are delicate beings. Fourteen-year-old panda, Mei Xiang, has had five failed pregnancies before giving birth to the latest cub who died this week. Tiny, hairless, and vulnerable to infection, keeping panda cubs alive can be a struggle. 

But when they do survive, man are they playful! We’ve got weekly highlights like pandas sharing some bamboo or panda cubs pulling each other down a slide or across a see-saw. Visit and learn more: Explore.org.

Panda Babies! Two young pandas born last year, Zhang Ka’s second cub and Xi Xi’s second cub, practice climbing skills in the Wolong Nature Reserve. Sixteen hundred pandas are approximated to live in the wild today with 325 in zoos and reserves. The China Research & Conservation Center for the Giant Panda at the Wolong Nature Reserve was established in 1963. Today there are 40 panda reserves across southwestern China. These reserves protect not only the Giant Pandas, but the entire ecosystem including the red panda, the golden monkeys, takin (a goat like animal) and many other smaller species. Those early evening hours, just after work, are the best times to catch the pandas on the live cam from China!
