From Jordan, we cross the Dead Sea heading northwest into Israel and Palestine. In Hebron, in the West Bank, a human rights organization called B’Tselem (“in the image of God”) provides children with video cameras to document their daily lives. B’Tselem hopes that this positive outlet will lessen violence between Palestinians and Jews. B’Tselem’s mission is “to document and educate the Israeli public and policymakers about human rights violations in the Occupied Territories, combat the phenomenon of denial prevalent among the Israeli public, and help create a human rights culture in Israel.”
