Oh how fast our baby boy grows up! Siku, our Polar Bear in Denmark, is getting big. But he still uses the “Geronimo!” method of water entrance popular among toddlers. He’s a natural though.”Polar Bears “can swim for several hours at a time over long distances. They’ve been tracked swimming continuously for 100 km (62 mi.)” and can swim up to speeds of 6.2 mph. Their thick blubber keeps them warm and their nostrils close so they can remain submerged for up to two minutes (Sea World).
